If it’s mid-September, and it is, then it must be getting close to time for the Open House at the Harley-Davidson Factory in York, Pennsylvania. If you’ve ever thought about visiting the facility where your Touring or Softail bike was assembled then this is the time to do it. Tens of thousands of people will be making the trek to York to visit the plant on September 25, 26 and 27th. Tours of the factory begin at 8 AM and run through the day to 3 PM. The tour is free but you have to wear regular shoes, meaning no flip flops and no sandals. There will also be demo rides, music, vendors and a “Peoples Choice Bike Show” on Saturday. All this happens at the factory.

State Police in Pennsylvania have announced they have identified a suspect in the shooting of a passenger on a motorcycle in early August. The victim, who is pregnant, felt a sharp pain in the lower side of her abdomen as the bike she was riding on was exiting Interstate 79 near Pittsburgh. At the time she thought that she had been struck by a flying stone. Upon examination at a local hospital it was discovered the woman had a bullet wound.
