Harley-Davidson has announced that it has completed the purchase of MV Agusta. The deal for 100 per cent of MV Agusta shares cost Harley 108 million dollars. The price includes the relief of 69 million dollars of MV Agusta’s back debt.

The MV Agusta models will compliment the Harley-Davidson and Buell product lines and increase Harleys presence in Europe. Harley-Davidson sales in Europe had already increased by double digit percentages each of the past 3 years while domestic sales had become stagnate.

By now I’m sure that you’ve heard that Harley-Davidson is in the process of buying the Italian motorcycle company MV Agusta for a reported 108 million dollars. I’m sure that makes the couple hundred employees that Harley just laid off feel real good. I have empathy for them because someone in China, Brazil or Mexico is now doing the jobs I did for Eljer Industies for the last twenty-one years.
