It seems the folks at BMW have taken Dain Gingerelli’s idea of a “Bare Bones Bike” from the December issue of IronWorks magazine to heart. They have unveiled their Lo-Rider concept bike with the idea of selling the customer just a motorcycle. That way the customer can add whatever parts he wants to individualize his machine. The bike is designed to share common components with other BMW motorcycle models. The cruiser type looking Lo-Rider concept bike was introduced at the Milan, Italy show. There has been no word yet on whether or not the Lo-Rider project will go into production for sale to the public.

It seems the low lifers have gone high class. Police in South San Fransisco are investigating a recent break in at the Dudley Perkins Company Harley-Davidson dealership. A routine patrol responded to an alarm at the dealership. While on scene the officers observed the driver of a BMW sedan talking on his cell phone as he slowly cruised past the business. When they tried to stop him he fled and led them on a high speed chase. After he lost control of the Beemer and it finally came to a stop he was arrested. Upon a search burglar tools were found in the vehicle. Surveillance tapes revealed the driver to be one of three men who had broken into the building earlier. His two accomplices are still on the lamb. Besides getting arrested for burglary, resisting arrest and fleeing I wonder if they gave him a ticket for talking on a phone while driving?
