Word from the American Motorcyclist Association is that Cliff Gullett from Bozeman, Montana was killed in an accident on the Bonneville Salt Flats on September 3rd. Gullett was racing in the 500 cc Streamliner class when the accident occurred. This is the week for racing at the Land Speed Facility on the famous Salt Flats. Mr. Gullett was 47 years of age. We at IronWorks magazine and IW Blogger extend our sympathy to his family and friends.

Insurance
I spent most of yesterday dealing with R.W. and Jodi’s insurance company, Progressive. The adjuster had come to look at the bike. BJ was just as nice young man in person as he has been on the phone. After he got out of his car and introduced himself he went right to work. I new instantly that this guy knew his stuff, unlike some insurance people that I’ve dealt with in the past who wouldn’t know the difference between a V-Rod and an Ultra or a fairing from a tour pack.

This is why I didn’t want to borrow my friends bike. This is also why I wear a helmet. As I was riding along about 8 PM last night this nice older gentleman decided to make a left turn in front of me. There I was two bike lengths away from the side of a new Lexus. Luckily I wasn’t going that fast and got whoa’d up as much as I could. But not fast enough.
