For all of you who enjoy seeing what motorcycling was like about 100 years ago here’s a video that we just got turned on to. Most of the video from Deluxe Ride is about Motordrome cycle racing on boardtracks where getting splinters was more worrisome than getting road rash if you wiped out. Not only were the motorcycles fragile looking but the participants wore very little protective gear.
The soundtrack features Hugo Race & True Spirit performing “Girl Called Sunset” which was recorded live in a maximum security prison in Poland on October 20, 2009. The second track, also from Hugo Race was recorded with Dirt Music (Chris Eckman & Chris Brokaw) is called “Niger Sundown”.
Here’s the link to “Motordrome – Board Track Motorcycle Racing in the US” which is film is being used as the intro of an exhibit at the Washington state History Museum in Tacoma. vimeo.com/51335139 .
