The Las Vegas BikeFest event producers have chosen the Boot Campaign and Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation as the recipients of charitable donations received through activities at the 2013 Las Vegas BikeFest.
“Both groups work on causes near to our hearts”, Mindi Cherry, Event Manager commented while announcing the partnerships. “We salute and support those coming home who have given themselves to our country, some of whom are attending Las Vegas BikeFest. The Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation works hard to give children and their families much needed support. We’re proud to work hand-in-hand with both of these charities.”
Boot Campaign will be supported by the 2nd Annual Strip Ride, Thursday, October 3rd, at 8:15pm. The Ride will begin in the Vendor Village at Cashman Center, and head down the strip. Riders will end up at an After-Party at the Sapphire Pool with special food and drink offers. A donation of $10 will include a special commemorative pin.
The Boot Campaign is a national 501c3 nonprofit that is dedicated to showing tangible appreciation of our active military, raising awareness of the challenges they face upon return and supporting their transition home. Through the sale of its signature military combat boots, general public donations, and corporate sponsorship, the Boot Campaign operates five distinct initiatives — Housing, Jobs, Wellness, Urgent Assistance and Family Support– that are caring for military personnel, past and present, healing from a variety of physical and emotional combat wounds, embodying the campaign motto that, “When They Come Back, We Give Back”.
Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation will benefit from the Annual Las Vegas BikeFest Poker Tournament, to be held Friday, October 4 at 5:00pm at the Golden Nugget Hotel and Casino and also from mulligan sales at the Friday and Saturday Poker Runs.
