Just got a note that my mates “Kiwi” Mike and Carolyn Tomas of Kiwi Indian Motorcycle Company are on vacation in Mike’s homeland of New Zealand. While there Mike took a tour of his old metal working class. He said, “I gotta tell you it was way cool going back in time.” Mike says the school hasn’t changed much and its still going strong. But Mike would like to change that by giving back a little by updating the equipment there.
Mike also said, “I’ve gone thru the classrooms and the trades classes need new equipment. The equipment they have right now are the same tools I used 30+ years ago in the same room in the same layout. So my plan is to get new equipment and equipment more suitable to today’s working world for these kids. Welders, lathes, milling machine and woodworking equipment for that woodworking dept as well. Ultimately I’d like to get the engineering dept a CNC lathe so they can learn this as well.”
We’re sure that Mike will succeed in this new endeavor and IronWorks hopes to help him as much as we can. BTW, Love the school uniforms.
