“Well the glow from the bars and a thousand stars light the cold Ohio night,
And the Turnpike’s slick, the snow’s as thick as thieves…
So I talk to the night, I head for the light, try and hold it on the road
Thank God for the man who put the white lines on the highway…”

Well, our trip to Cleveland wasn’t that bad. Even though we left in a bad storm the Ohio DOT had done a fine job on most of I-80 and I-71 on both the trip up and back. The same can’t be said for PennDOT on route 422 the closer we got to home. But we took our time and even stopped at Biketown and the Quaker Steak and Lube in Austintown, Ohio for some lunch.
We’d headed up for to see the bikes in the J&P Ultimate Builders Custom Bike Show at the Progressive International Motorcycle Show in Cleveland. This was the start my “C Tour” of Ohio. Cleveland this past weekend, then Cincinnati this weekend for the V-Twin Expo and on the way home from Cinci I have to pass the spot in Columbus where I went body surfing on I-70 a few years ago. I do get flashbacks when I go by.
But anyways we had a grand time looking at all the custom bikes, dealer displays and shop displays. If you needed info about just about any kind of product or service for motorcycles you could find it there. They even had a demonstration on how to lift your bike if/when you drop your bike. I had a nice conversation with Fred Davis of the Lake Erie Chapter of the AMCA as I was perusing the Crouch bike at their booth. Beautiful machine.
Here’s some snaps I took at the show. I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed the trip. Images and post Sam Kanish
