The 2013 J&P Ultimate Builder Custom Bike Show is part of the 13 city Progressive International Motorcycle Show series. The Indy-edition of the traveling motorcycle circus contains displays from the OEMs including BMW, Can-Am, Ducati, Honda, Harley, Kawasaki, Suzuki, Triumph, Yamaha, Star and Zero Motorcycles.
Kyle Shorey of Shadetree Fabrications has won each show he has entered and has taken the top prize in Atlanta, Dallas, Chicago and now Indianapolis.
Speedmetal began life as a customer’s Saxon Crown chopper. The wheels, engine, brakes and tranny were salvaged from the donor bike. A key feature of the bike is the prototype springer, which has gone through extensive on-road testing and will be available to the public later this year. With his win in Indy, Kyle is now the top money winner in the series with $12,500.
Mike McFadden won the Show Dog Award sponsored by Rocking K Custom Leather for his promotion at the show. Tom Hedrick won the People’s Choice Award with Rings, a 1987 Harley-Davidson Heritage Softail.
