For all you ladies planning on riding your own bike to Sturgis this year here’s an event you might want to consider attending. It’s the 2nd annual Biker Belles Ride presented by the Legendary Sturgis Buffalo Chip on Wednesday, August 8, 2012. The Biker Belles day of celebration will include a charity ride, fashion show, vendor displays, silent and live auction and entertainment including the Sturgis Buffalo Chip’s world-class concerts.
The Biker Belles were created to raise funds for two South Dakota Charities; Helping with Horsepower and the Sturgis Motorcycle Museum & Hall of Fame. Helping with Horsepower is a program that helps young women and girls who are at risk or are victims of abuse. The Sturgis Motorcycle Museum is a world-class motorcycle museum that will use the contributions to expand or enhance exhibits that feature women riders and their role in the history and culture of motorcycling.
The Biker Belles celebration starts after the annual Sturgis Motorcycle Museum & Hall of Fame Induction Breakfast in Deadwood and continues with the ride departing from The Lodge at Deadwood. The spectacular ride will be lead by Ride Captain (famed Motor Maids member, Meg McDonough) and friends, including renowned builder, land speed record holder Laura Klock. The ride ends but the celebration continues at the Sturgis Buffalo Chip for a special Biker Belle shindig including food, beverage, shopping, fashion show, silent and live auction, entertainment by Iron Cowgirl Missy and a headliner concert in the Sturgis Buffalo Chip amphitheater.
