Even though there were only a couple dozen people who actually rode their motorcycles into town, the organizers of the Port Dover Friday the 13th Rally were pleased with the turnout. Due to the sudden change in weather riders chose to stay home but the town was still full of revelers for the first of 3 Friday the 13th Rallies this year. The rallies in April and July will surely draw the normal crowds of up to 150,000 people and 15,000 motorcycles. Port Dover, Ontario, population 6000, has been home to the Friday the 13th Rally since November 13, 1981.
Editors note: Watching the web-cam on the main street of town I could tell it was cold. Of course it had to be since it was cold where I live, which is 200 miles south of Port Dover. The few bikes that did roll by seemed to be navigating the pavement fairly easily. More power to them.
