I found myself in a predicament recently. I needed some brake parts for my bike ASAP. But what I needed were aftermarket parts, not OEM H-D, so I had to shop around. Having dealt with J&P Cycles before I felt confident they would have them. Not sure about the correct part number I used their online technical assistance. The tech rep, Josh, quickly found what I needed so I placed the order and had it shipped Express Air. Like I said I needed the parts ASAP.
When the parts arrived I took them to New Castle H-D, which does all my service work. Smitty tore into the project and quickly made the observation, “These won’t fit”. . Luckily the parts man said he might have a set that was going into their discount bin would fit. Sure enough I lucked out.
But now I was stuck with parts that I couldn’t use so I called J&P’s customer service. I explained to Jason, the customer service rep that I had gotten the wrong parts. It wasn’t J&Ps fault, they had sent the item with the right part number on it. What had happened was that someone somewhere at the manufacturer or J&P’s supplier had put a wrong label on the package. As the old saying goes, “Right church, wrong pew”.
Anyway, J&P gave me a full refund on my purchase including shipping costs. I’d like to thank Josh and Jason for their help and J&P Cycles for their understanding and response in this matter.
