Harleys and Hollywood at the H-D Museum
The Harley-Davidson Museum in Milwaukee will be rolling out the red carpet for visitors just in time for the Oscars as it opens a special display of “Harleys and Hollywood. Motorcycles have had featured rolls in films ever since the Marx Brothers and Keystone Cops. But ‘The Wild One” cemented the motorcycle as an icon of youth and rebellion in films.
Visitors to the Museum will have the chance to see, live and in person, some of the famous Hollywood motorcycles that have defined pop culture over the years. Bikes on display include those seen in the films G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, Star Trek, and Wild Hogs, as well as those owned by stars Clark Gable, Steve McQueen, Ludacris, and Jesse James.
Everyone who visits “Harleys & Hollywood” can enjoy a flash of stardom as they hop in the saddle of the actual bike ridden by Shia Labouf in Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull and get their photo taken.
The “Harleys and Hollywood” display starts on February 11th and runs until March 14th at the Harley-Davidson Museum, 400 West Canal Street, Milwaukee, Wisconsin. A special evening will be February 28th when Hollywood movie insiders Tim Woods, Picture Car Coordinator and Justin Kell, Motorcycle Coordinator appear at the museum and give insights and tell storied about motorcycles in the movies. Looking forward to the riding season, you can help the Harley Davidson Museum celebrate their 2nd. Anniversary on July 9th and 10th. The Boozefighters M/C will be honored guests at the shindig. Of course they were unjustly accused to taking over the town of Hollister, California on the July 4th weekend in 1947. That incident was the progenitor of much of the notoriety attributed by the media to all bikers. The 1953 movie The Wild One was just the start. Join Knucklehead Company M/C and the Boozefighters M/C for a great continuation of group celebration of the HD marque.
