Dains Words Of Truth

I had to chuckle while I was reading part of Dain Gingerelli’s column in the November issue of IronWorks. He states about the changing attitudes of some bikers at major events when you point a camera at them. In the past you could receive bodily harm if some 1%er thought you had taken their picture. They wanted to make sure that pictures of them being somewhere they weren’t supposed to be didn’t show up in the news which could wind up as evidence in court.

Sometimes they would ask if you had taken their picture and tell you to give them the film. Other times they would just take the camera and pull the film out to expose it. If you would resist they would smash the camera and maybe you and when one starts the others are bound to jump in so you’d get thumped. But like Dain states in his column that the times have changed. It’s possible that 1%er now has a book or reality TV show deal. You can read Dains expose in the November issue of IronWorks.

Note: One of the weirdest things I’ve witnessed was one time at Sturgis I saw a guy from say, club A taking a picture of a guy from club B who was taking a picture of a guy from club A who was taking a picture of a guy from club B. I wish I had taken a picture of that but I knew better, because I didn’t know who was taking my picture.
