What Brand of Motorcycle?

Many years ago a friend gave me the picture you see above. All these years I’ve been wondering what brand of motorcycle the gentleman is working on. Today’s service “technicians” certainly don’t wear the outfit that he has on. To show you how old the picture is, it was made from a glass plate negative. So are there any experts out there who know or care to hazard a guess?
