New Walters 4 Speed Automatic For Motorcycles
Walters Manufacturing of Plano, Illinois has been developing a new automatic 4 speed transmission for use in post 1999 Big Twin motorcycles. The original concept was for the trannies to be used in trike conversions but they can also be used in the standard 2 wheeled bikes. Back in the March 2007 issue of IronWorks a Dyna was featured that was equipped with a Walters 3 speed automatic.
These automatic transmission conversions would be good for novice riders and those who are for whatever reason co-ordination challenged. Look for a review of an automatic trike in a future issue of IronWorks. The 4 speed auto is pictured below next to a 5/6 speed. For more info go to www.waltersautomatic.com
