Love Ride Cancelled!

October 25th was supposed to be the date of the annual “Love Ride” in LA. For the past 25 years it was one of the most famous charity motorcycling events in the world. It drew both the famous and infamous to ride together for a good cause. But due to the tough economic times the organizers decided to forgo this years ride. Pre-registrations were only 1/3 of the previous lowest numbers and on site registrations were forecast to be substantially off too.
Instead of the the annual “Love Ride”, Peter Fonda will hold an autograph session and there will be a movie screening celebrating the 40th anniversary of the iconic movie EASY RIDER at Glendale H-D. Hopefully when the economy recovers the “Love Ride” will resume.
Really a shame… a very nice charity event that drew a crowd of the famous and infamous every year. Alas, sad sign of the times I suppose.
