Bernie’s Bobber

We don’t know anything about Bernie Foltz’s bike except that it looks like it’s a tastefully done real long, low and lean hot rod. Bernie wants to know, what do you think of his bike? “YOU BE THE JUDGE!

  1. I love it! Another old school bike. I’d love to see more pictures of it to see the detail better. The exhaust is interesting how it points straight down. Wondering how it sounds and if you get blow up from it, although it looks pretty cool. The color of the grips compliments it well.

  2. Loose the front fender and it’s perfect – great job!

  3. I mostly like the lines on this bike. There is some fine tuning that I would prefer to see. The distribution of chrome vs. satin finishes seems to be haphazard & incongruous. The long front fender doesn’t seem in step with the rest of the bike & would be better if chopped down or removed entirely. I’m personally not a fan of using a peanut tank on a long frame. It looks like a fat chick wearing a babydoll shirt. Unsexy. But I know a lot of people are big fans of peanut tanks on choppers & bobbers. Personally I’d love to see a custom fab tank that better fills the empty spaces at the front of the bike & flatters the geometry of the bike more.

  4. Tastefully done mate! Love the down pipes, kinda interesting to see this style. Keep up the great work!!

    my bobber project…

  5. Very nice! The only thing I’m not crazy about is that front fender and chrome forks.

  6. well I’ve got nothing to add that hasn’t already been said above….
The bike is awesome, just needs a little tweaking for my taste. Not really a fan of the pipes and it does need a bigger tank on it. I love the little tanks, but with the long backbone on this frame, it just doesn’t work for me. And that front fender needs to go. I say remove it totally, but if you just had to have one, it needs to be small on a bobber.
I dig the handle bars though. And the sight gauge on the tank is great. I’ve been wanting to put one of those on my bike since I don’t have a gas gauge on my ride. Maybe some day…

  7. Hmmm… something about this feels incomplete. It is a good start, but to be a really great bike some things need to be finished. The hard angles of the handlebars stand alone from the rest of the bike, though the color & accessories match well. The long front fender contrasts the bobbed look of much of the rest of the bike. The forks being chrome bring the eye to the front, which take your eye then to the empty space just behind them, which seems too empty for the compact engine/seat/rear tire. I think a few tweaks and this will be a nice ride.

  8. Very nice bike. As has already been mentioned, the space in front of the tank is a little conspicuous for its emptiness, I like the suggestion of the custom tank. I personally am not a big chrome fan, and think this bike would be completely evil looking with more matte black finish on the metal surfaces. The pipes are bad-ass looking, but is there any negative from the straight down positioning? All-in-all, though, really good start and look forward to seeing what else you may do with it.

  9. The tank is my only complaint. I’d rather see a full size tank and not that tiny thing. The gaps look incomplete or wanting. Good looking bike though. It has it’s own style, but still needs some work.

  10. Just like the bike I had, oh, 25 years ago or so… good home-brew bikes never go out of style!

Although some of the suggestions (above posts) are valid, each builder has his own ideas and vision, and that is what counts. Certainly shows in this bike!

  11. Nice bike. Nothing wrong with it from my perspective.

This thing just looks like it rips ass! Hard tail bobbers are the ultimate hot rod for bikes, light weight, stripped down, and fast as hell! That is what the small peanut is all about. Less gas means less weight, which means more speed! This baby is all motor and looks like a really fun street pounder. I wanta see the details.Nice work!

  13. I like it! Not sure about the front fender. maybe wack a few inches off both ends.
