Indian Returning to California
Indian Motorcycles recently received clearance from the California Emissions Board to sell their motorcycles in California. That state has the most stringent emissions standards which companies must meet before their vehicles are allowed to be sold in the state. This is the first time since it’s re-birth that Indian has met the standards.
Five dealerships are planned for California, which accounts for 10% of all motorcycle sales in the U.S. The first two will be in Harbor City and Fresno. Others are planned for Orange County, San Diego and Northern California. The first dealerships should be open before the new 2010 Chiefs arrive which are rumored to sell for around $26,000.
