The urban scene is rife with young kids who ride and hot rod mopeds.
Perfect for bombing around the city. Who needs front fenders or bodywork?
Highly maneuverable and cheap to operate – it makes sense to me.
One step from getting their licenses and from getting Sportsters (one can only hope), they are on their way.
How cool is that?
two-wheeled terrors
I was stationed in Germany from 75-78 and from 80-83 and there were whole gangs of moped riders in every town. They would take over the smaller gasthauses (bars).But they would have to leave by 10:00 PM because German law will let 16 year olds drink beer but they had to be out by then. I always wondered why American kids didn’t ride.
These machines are little animals, they haul major butt, many of them pretty quiet and stealthy. In urban areas they are not as many in number as you might think…. kids still have to contend with the “where do i leave it ” issues and many of these kids dont have access to tools or knowledge – but they go for it anyway…
