Museum Goes Hog Wild

The Reading Public Museum will be going “Hog Wild” when a new exhibit “Born To Be Wild, Adventures In The Art Of Motorcycle Design” opens on October 3, 2008 and runs through January 4, 2009. The exhibit will showcase 46 motorcycles of both classical and contemporary design. Centerpiece of the display will be the iconic bikes from the classic cycle movie EASY RIDER.

Display Bikes

Yes the “Billy Bike” and “Captain America” will be there. But the rest of the 46 bikes on display will be an eclectic mix. Also featured will be Arlen Ness’ creation “Two Bad 2″ and a rare 1905 Reading Standard. For more info contact www.readingpublicmuseum.org

Gala Event

To help kick off the exhibit a special “Museum Bike Run” will be held on Saturday October 4th starting at 9 AM at the historic Reading Pagoda. Preceding this on Friday night October 3rd the museum will be holding an “Opening Night Reception” which will be “Biker Chic”. Whew! For a moment I thought I’d have to dig my tuxedo out of mothballs and get it cleaned. Now I can just wear my jeans and leathers, I think.
