Moving Wall to be at Sturgis 2009

The Broken Spoke Campground has proudly announced that the “Moving Wall” will be at it’s facility near Sturgis, South Dakota for the 2009 rally. The “Moving Wall” is a scale replica tribute to the Vietnam War Memorial, “The Wall”, in Washington, DC. This tribute has been touring the country since 1984. The opening ceremony will be Saturday August 1 and the closing ceremony is scheduled for sunset on Saturday August 8.

If you are a veteran planning on attending the event or just someone who wants to experience camping at Sturgis during the 2009 rally you can make reservations at: www.Brokenspokecampground.com.

The Broken Spoke Campground has extended it’s very popular $99/person camping rate until January 1, 2009.

I have seen both “The Wall” and “The Moving Wall” and believe me both are moving.

I know its only December but what do you have to offer as far as staying with you guys…..costs for the Bike week 2009, hook ups and what areas do you have for our 14 ft trailer/Harley hauler………Also, what day can we show up and get in…Whats not allowed……Do you have shaded areas with hook-ups(water/elec. /table)……..and a map of your place……..And is there any meals provided…………..What does it cost per person to get into the concerts………Can we make reservations on line….or by phone…………do you pay upfront…or do you pay when we get there…….And what charges if any do we pay if we can’t make it there …..In case of an emergency……..God help us………Thanks the Heaths from Kalamazoo Michigan….

  2. There are a lot of details at the bikeweek.com/brokenspoke micro-site, including photo galleries of their “world’s largest biker bar” – that is now 3-stories and 45,000 square feet, and “world’s largest biker pool” that has daily free beer hour and live music pool parties during sturgis rallies. It’s pretty cool… a little north of the rally, but the only place where you can cool off while having a good time.

  3. people like dennis and denise are the reason ive stopped riding to the sturgis rally. im sorry but if for some emergency you cant bring your 14 ft harley hauling monstrosity that needs electric ,water and a nice shady spot you would leave room for at least ten real bikers that rode hundreds of miles with a tent!

  4. I have the answers about Broken Spoke Campground – Due to the poor economy, they are not going to raise any of their prices – including $99 campground spots. They open July 28th and close August 9th. They are on 600 acres, providing 300 & 500 amp RV spots (also same prices as they were in ’08) and private, air-conditioned cabins. The new reservations phone number is 8-SPOKE-ON-79.
