Carlisle Summer Bike Fest

photo courtesy carsatcarlisle.comThis weekends annual Bike Fest at Carlisle is one of my favorite events of the year. There’s always lots of hot eye candy throughout the grounds. Some of the famous bike builders and celebrities have their bikes on hand. Believe me the rich and famous aren’t the only ones with neat looking rides at Carlisle. Just walking through the parking lots you can see show quality bikes.

The organizers provide tremendous entertainment all weekend long to keep everyone satisfied. They have great bands and usually some sort of show in front of the grandstand. And one of my favorites (of course) of the place is the food.

Never been, don’t feel like going the 600 miles out of my way.
Looks like a good time. How about you posting some of the shots you take? Maybe some of that eye candy you mentioned.

From the food comment you must be a pretty big guy. I’m in the 300 range, no ones fault but my own. Funnel cakes call my name. Have fun and be safe.

So you must be at Carlisle since theirs no new posts. I just finished reading the Cyril Huze blog and noticed that according to his blog there are several companies backing out of Sturgis. I don’t think their will be as large of a turn out this year with the economy the way it is. My grandson and I are still going. You would have to tie me down.

I agree with BigJohn… some of your best photos on the blog would sure be of interest! Nothing like a photo to tell the story…

And as RoadRat537 points out, Sturgis is probably going to be down from last year, but that’s true with almost all the shows. The point is, you don’t need an event to ride your bike. Even if no one shows up, just get on and ride!

That’s always been my way of looking at it. In the more than 30 years I’ve been riding I never needed a reason. Unlike my grandson who points to gas prices as a reason to ride. I guess it’s good to have a reason, I’m just glad to have him along for the ride.

  1. kre8designs - I know Sam goes to Carlisle every year. I may go this year, but I doubt it. Be sure to check out the links at the bottom if you plan on attending.
