Biker, Bullet Create ‘Accidental’ Encounter

State Police in Pennsylvania have announced  they have identified a suspect in the shooting of a passenger on a motorcycle in early August. The victim, who is pregnant, felt a sharp pain in the lower side of her abdomen as the bike she was riding on was exiting Interstate 79 near Pittsburgh. At the time she thought that she had been struck by a flying stone. Upon examination at a local hospital it was discovered the woman had a bullet wound.

Investigators determined that the shot came from the gun range of a local sportsman’s club. After sifting through garbage for clues and checking the club’s log-in sheets the police narrowed the list of weapons who might be involved to three. Ballistics tests on the three weapons finally got the police their prime suspect. The man, who was a guest at the club, admitted he had fired his assault type rifle over the 70 ft. high embankment behind the club’s shooting range.

Police have determined the shooting was accidental. Experts said the odds that a trained sniper could have hit a moving target at the distance the bullet flew would be astronomical. The woman was struck 1.6 miles from where the moron fired his gun. The suspect faces several criminal charges. Luckily the woman was not seriously hurt, and her fetus was not injured.

What bad luck, sounds like something that would happen to your me or Robert.

BTW, A man and woman that ran Kelly’s Grocery in Highland home (about 7 miles from our house) were shot to death yesterday? It was by two 18 year old Ramer boys robbing the place. Two people dead and another shot at several times all for $80.00. Definitively NOT an accident!

I am grateful that so little damage was done. Nevertheless, it gauls me that the shooting is called “accidental” rather than “consequential”.

I must have typed a couple of hundred words here. Then deleted them all because nothing read like a step in the right direction.

I hope Sam will keep tabs on this news item and post up the latest results as they happen.

I bet that the shooter will get away clean. The wounded party’s medical bills will be paid by the wounded party’s insurance only after some sort of fight between the wounded party and the wounded party’s insurance company. The shooting club will not only be held faultless, but make no change in their site’s opperation.

That’s just nuts. The guy should be in jail, for being an idiot.
